Looking over the valley from Machynlleth towards Cwm Gila. Elsewhere in my notes I've mentioned Led Zep's 1970s hideaway, Bron-yr-Aur: it's some distance behind the hill in the foreground. If you carry on walking over the far hill, you eventually come to the village of Abergynolwyn, past the now levelled site of Bryn Eglwys, an abandoned quarry village. |

This is Domen Las (= Green Mound), most likely the site of a medieval "llys", or manor house. It's easily seen on the left hand side as you leave Pennal on the Tywyn road. |
