Pont Minllyn, the packhorse bridge built in the early 1600s by (or at least on the orders of) Rev Dr. John Davies, Rector of Mallwyd, 1604-1644, with the 1845 road bridge behind it. Take a look at this old painting, a view from almost the same location as the second picture. I have no idea when it was painted, or who M. Crouse was. There is yet a third bridge immediately behind these old bridges, hidden in these shots, and which carries the traffic nowdays. |
