From: Johnny Lewis (her brother)

July 25 1897

I was very happy to have a letter from you and I thank you very much for the very useful present you sent me. You made a little mistake with the date - my birthday is on the 26th tomorrow (Monday).

Very glad to know that you are quite well. The Miss Lewis's look quite well and I should think they are enjoying themselves grand. We are having rather strong weather here now. Perhaps it is not so bad with you. Glad to say we are all pretty well - Mamma has not been so well these last days.

I haven't much to write this time. I hope very much that you will get on well as you have done and that you are quite comfortable. So with much love from all, I remain your dear brother Johnny.
