Dear Lizzie Ann, David, JM & Lona

We now take the pleasure of writing a few lines to you hoping that you are quite well, and that the children are much better now. Our great Fair was yesterday and it was a very wet day. The second daughter of J R Morgan the Draper died with little illness. They are burying on Monday. A young R??? is our preacher. Very good. Text was first Romans, 16th verse – ‘for I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth’.

Our School no. 84. We are going to have a Singing Festival on a week next Thursday in our Chapel. The English Chapels – Newtown, Llandiloes & Down to Machynlleth, as many as there are English. The Welsh festival is the same day in Maengwyn, so you see that the Town for once will be filled with singers. Frances was successful with a quartet in the Town Hall last night. We are all pretty well. So we have not much news to tell you more now. May God bless you all. Amen.

With our very best love to you all, from Father, Mother & Frances.
