Dear Lizzie Ann, David, JM and Lona

We now take the pleasure of writing these few lines to you hoping to find you in good health as we all are at present. Dear Lizzie Ann, just a little account of last week. On Thursday night we had a soiree, you know a sociable meeting, something like a concert with tea. There is a programme for you to see. It is Frances’s collection, so you will see that it was rather a grand affair. I was there myself and I enjoyed it very much. Mamma was there also.

Your Minister had a very great shock I am sure when he was told that poor Evan Evans (Dylife) had died on his way to Carmel, where they were both to preach the last Sunday. So sudden was the event, and the funeral was on Wednesday at Llanbrynmair, the largest ever seen there. Mr Turner has come to see for us today, he is returning by mail. We have no preacher today, disappointed, so you see that we have all to do a little. A very happy prayer meeting this morning. Mr Meyler is going to address the meeting tonight. 88 in school. Dear Lizzie Ann, so glad to have the photos of the dear little children. John Maurice is taken to natural, David is quite an artist. Remember me very much to Johnny when you write to him.

So I have not much news to tell you this time. Hoping that you are able to enjoy this Sabbath like St John in the role of Patmus in the spirit on the Lords day. Then we hear voices and see sights inward which will give us joy and encouragement to go on our way. This is my hearts desire and prayer for you all. Amen. So I have not much more to tell you this time.

From your dear Father, Mother & Sister

M, E, Fr.

With our very best love to you and David and the dear children. XXX
