From: her father, Maurice Lewis

Dear Lizzie Ann, David, JM and Maglona

We now take the pleasure of writing these few lines to you hoping that they will find you all quite well at present, as it leaves us all pretty well. Mamma will write to you this week and tell you when she intends coming. Also, they are going to send you some cake tomorrow, after the grand tea party on Thursday last. It was a very great success - £480 pounds were collected towards the new schoolroom.

It was a very pleasant day and the Concert at night was a very good one. Frances sang about 3 times and then she went at 9 o'clock the same night, to the Town Hall and sang before some great gentry, there at the presentation of medals to Hugh Arthur and young Harris. We shall send you a paper with the account of all this week.

Young David Morgan the L…….. came home for the holidays a week ago and was taken ill and died on Friday night. He was in a Bank in Birmingham - perhaps David had seen him.

We had great rejoicing on Friday in our town - you shall have a paper on Tuesday morning. Frances played the new organ in the Services today - our Preacher is a young man from Towyn.

Remember us to John Maurice, Dada, Nain, Hai and tell him that he shall have some cake. Dear Lizzie Ann we have no more news to tell you this time.

May God bless you every one. The text was John - Chapter 14 - verse 6 - 'no man cometh to the Father but by me'.
